Lori Grace

Lori Grace MA Psych is the founder and executive director of both Sunrise Center Farm Research and Malama Aina Eco-education center both located in Maui. She became inspired to start using soldier fly larvae as a supplemental food for her chickens, ducks and fish. All of them have thrived. She also created the aquaponics systems we use at Hale Akua to raise food. Aquaponics systems can raise food in drought situations as well as normal weather. She is concerned about the plight of low income and small farmers on Maui, many of which have to hold down another job elsewhere in order to farm She wants to see people able to create abundant back yards and to succeed on a business level with their small farms. She is also interested very much in teaching closed loop farming, reducing many of the imports from the mainland  and in  promoting the cultivation of insect larvae as healthy food for chickens, ducks and fish.

She also has a strong background in many communication technologies and group dynamics work. She has combined her experience in these fields with her background in body awareness work and role-playing.to create Embodied Compassionate Communication. All of these strategies  have contributed to much success within businesses and  among families. Many of her students have found that becoming fluent in these approaches has also helped them become more empathic and has helped them have more peace and harmony in their lives.
